I do not refer to embryos as “potential humans” they are actual humans. When an ovum is not fertilized *who* is harmed? There is no separate human to be harmed, only a haploid human cell. The argument you outline is indeed nonsensical, which is why I did not make it.

I would encourage you to apply your remarks on potentiality to all humans, and see if you still believe them.
